2024Event + Product Design
To highlight the cushioned characteristics of the Nike Invincible 3 running shoe, we created the most cushioned pastry.
Together with FREA Bakery, Berlin’s most beloved vegan bakery, Refinery29 created a raspberry flavoured tartelette with a soft white-chocolate creme topping and the iconic swoosh logo. 
For two consecutive weekends the pastry was available to all Berlin runners, inviting them to celebrate the end of their run with our custom cushioned pastry at FREA Bakery.

2026Styling
To highlight the album release of singer songwriter Emile Lagarde we shot a series of PR imagery.&#38;nbsp;
The album ‘Navelstaren’ revolves around the theme of navel gazing - looking inwards. We translated that into imagery that feels like a disoriented morning: stumbled out of bed, looking for something or maybe nothing. Have you grown up? Or are you still dreaming?
The styling plays with soft, striped, child like materials combined with tough working clothes like rain boots and stiff Carhartt jeans.&#38;nbsp;

Interviewseries for Unguis Oracle - an independent print magazine founded by manicurist and Editor in Chief Daniel Smedeman. The magazine is inspired by hands, and edition two ‘TACTUS’ explores the theme of touch.The interview series focuses on the contributors of issue two, each sharing their own interpretation of the theme, their inspiration and ways of working. From photographers to stylists, everyone relates to theme in their own way and find their own means of expression.&#38;nbsp;
Set design is inspired by the news room, where offline print is at the heart: the smell of fresh ink and the feel of paper coming out of the printer, still a little warm.&#38;nbsp;

2025Interior Design
Welcome to The Spoon Room – where you'll sleep (or spoon?) among silver memories from around the world. The hotel room is filled with countless teaspoons, each one unique and once cherished by someone. Some hailed from faraway lands, others from thrift stores around the corner, each one carrying their own story.
In The Spoon Room, Sjo has created a romantic and nostalgic world with a touch of humor. She scoured the country in search of the most beautiful teaspoons, which she brought together into a poetic collection at the Groene Afslag. With The Spoon Room, Sjo invites visitors to a moment of reflection, peace, intimacy, and wonder.


De Groene Afslag is a circular hub with a hotel, meeting rooms, restaurant, and school. They offer space for radical change and demonstrate a green world in a refreshing way. De Groene Afslag has 30 hotel rooms, each designed by a different artist. All rooms are designed to encourage circular thinking and create a unique sleeping experience 🛌.
